Does simple-mc supports QuickTime?
Reported by ronin-67523 (at lighthouseapp) | August 25th, 2009 @ 09:27 AM | in 0.90
Hi, as a non programmer I've already spend quite some time figuring out what's the best solution for my needs, so hopefully simple-mc can be the winner ;-) Does simple-mc handle the use/change of QuickTime movies as well? There's no need for resizing or anything fancy, only to be able to disable the autostart function. If so, my search is over and I finally can get back to work. And one more question on installing. In the site involved I have a secure area, divided in 5 individually secured areas. That is where I need to apply the cms. Do I still have to install in the root folder or in the secured folder(s)? Thanks in advance!

While awaiting answers I just started messing around. I've created a database and inported the smc.sql script etc, but when I call the index.php page through the browser for further configuring I cant get in. What's the default log and pass?

I get so few tickets here that I almost never come and check. Sorry. I wish LightHouse would email me when someone leaves a ticket. Anyway:
Simple MC uses a content filtering library called HtmlPurifier. In order to allow embed/object tags in content blocks, you would need to modify the HtmlPurifier config file:
As for disabling the autostart function, I believe you would do that through your object/embed parameters.
As for installation, you can install SimpleMC anywhere you want. Please bear in mind that SimpleMC is just that ... it's simple. It doesn't do very much. Chances are pretty good that it won't even come close to doing everything that you need.

Thanks for getting back at met Leveille. I was afraid for an answer like that. QuickTime seems to be quite exotic when it comes to working with cms.

SimpleMC, written in PHP, is meant to provide an easy way for content editors to edit blocks of content. It is meant for smaller sites, where clients just want to get in, edit some content, and get out.
